The Terex TLB840R backhoe loader available from IronDirect is a perfect blend of lower cost, performance and ease of operation that makes it a great match for rental companies, owner-operators and small-fleet owners. IronDirect announced addition of the 74-horsepower Terex backhoe at the ConExpo-Con/Agg trade show in Las Vegas.
“The Terex TLB840R has a lower acquisition cost without sacrificing performance or features,” said IronDirect President Tim Frank. “Terex applied more than 50 years of backhoe loader design experience to create a lower-horsepower machine that delivers quick return on investment. This machine is a key addition to IronDirect’s new Rental Co-op e-commerce site.”
The IronDirect Rental Co-op is an online portal for rental companies to acquire fleet equipment such as backhoe loaders, excavators and compactors. It also provides fleet-asset liquidation services for a small 1 percent fee. To continue using the cost-effective asset-disposal service, co-op customers commit to a minimum level of new-machine purchases from IronDirect.
The Terex TLB840R joins the growing market presence of backhoe loaders with 74-horsepower (55.4 kW) or lower-power engines. According to a recent cover story in Construction Equipment magazine, this size class is “gaining a firm foothold” because these backhoes are not required to have exhaust after-treatment systems like their larger siblings. This lowers purchase price and makes for easier operation and maintenance. This size backhoe is well suited for use in rental fleets.
The TLB840R has a four-cylinder Tier 4 final Deutz diesel engine with electronic fuel injection, a four-speed synchro shuttle transmission and a robust hydraulic system to excel at digging, reaching, lifting and loading tasks. It has a 14 foot 9 inch (4.5 m) maximum digging depth (standard dipper), 1 cubic yard (0.76 m3) loader bucket and is available with canopy cab or an enclosed, climate-controlled cab. With a 9,441 pound-foot (42 kN) loader bucket breakout force and loader lift capacity of 7,291 pound- feet (32.4 kN), the TLB840R delivers high production capacity. A curved boom design and maximum 13 foot 5 inch (4119 mm) backhoe loading height gives operators the clearance for loading closer into trucks for maximum productivity.
IronDirect will sell the Terex TLB840R online, and will also recruit dealers to sell the backhoe.
