IronDirect Introduces 4 Shantui Pipelayers

Shantui_Pipelayers3Four Shantui sideboom pipelayer models deliver lifting capacity from 25 to 90 metric tons, a load-management system, gradeability up to 30 degrees, and a price point substantially lower than major competitors. IronDirect introduced Shantui pipelayers for North America at the ConExpo-Con/Agg 2017 trade show in Las Vegas.

“These pipelayers have robust construction and ease of operation,” said IronDirect President Tim Frank. “Pipeline contractors will appreciate long machine life, reliable performance and purchase price up to 40 percent below competing brands.”

The Shantui SP25Y, SP45Y, SP70Y and SP90Y pipelayers are built on the same solid frames as Shantui crawler dozers. Boom heights range from 18 to 28 feet (5.5 to 8.6 m) with maximum lifting heights from 14.4 to 23 feet (4.4 to 7.7 m). Lift capacities are 25, 45, 70 and 90 metric tons. The pipelayers have operating weights from 22 to 55 metric tons. Maximum boom line speed is 39.4 feet per minute (12 m/min) on the SP25Y and 19.7 feet per minute (6 m/min) on the SP45Y, SP70Y and SP90Y.

In the pipelayer cab, one joystick controls the hook and boom, and another joystick controls the counterweight. Pilot pressure control hydraulics offer improved maneuverability and precision. The Shantui load moment indicator system monitors the boom angle, rated load and lifting height to make sure the pipe is positioned within the machine’s rated working load.
