IronDirect President Tim Frank has been honored by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine as one of its Frank was honored for his pioneering work in establishing IronDirect’s innovative business model for selling, managing, and supporting construction equipment. Frank was among nearly 200 people honored on the 2017 Pros to Know listing.
Ronnie Garrett, editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive, said recipients “offer a roadmap for other leaders looking to leverage the supply chain for competitive advantage. Their efforts in developing the tools, processes and a knowledge base for supply chain transformation, as well as in promoting new approaches to supply chain enablement, earned these individuals a rightful place in this year’s Pros to Know.”
Frank said he was honored to be included among the magazine’s honorees. “One of the key challenges facing supply chains today is how to unlock greater value — this is especially true in the construction equipment industry where the sales model has traditionally been very limited and closed,” he said. “IronDirect is disrupting the current status quo by offering buyers a more direct and transparent way to manage the entire lifecycle of their fleet, not just make an initial purchase. Our simple and easy-to-use e-commerce marketplace provides customers with technology, tools and services that add value at every stage in the ownership lifecycle, resulting in a truly smarter, better way to do business.”
Frank has had a distinguished career in the construction equipment industry. Prior to helping found IronDirect, Frank held high level positions at Sany America, Volvo Construction Equipment and CNH. As chairman and CEO, he led Sany America to rapid growth and its first profitability in North America. As a senior vice president at Volvo CE, Frank oversaw $2 billion in P&L, including 48 branches of company-owned retail distribution. Prior to that, Frank spent six years in various roles at CNH Global and Caterpillar.
The Pros to Know honor is the second high-profile recognition for IronDirect in recent months. Compact Equipment magazine awarded the company with its calling IronDirect the “ultimate online dealer network.” The award was detailed in the December 2016 print edition of Compact Equipment.
