Two months removed from our mid-September launch, IronDirect continues to rack up impressive coverage from industry magazines and news websites.
The October 31 issue of Engineering News-Record included a two-page article on the IronDirect platform, written by equipment editor Mike Anderson. “The IronDirect key, says Tim Frank, president of [Liquidity Services’] new construction equipment arm, is the availability of value- and premium-priced equipment and attachments from both new and established brands,” the article said. “‘It’s more about products that haven’t been able to come to market,’ says Frank, ‘because the distribution channel doesn’t allow them to.’” This publication has a circulation of 62,000 and a widely visited web site.
Compact Equipment magazine published an “Editor at Large” feature by Keith Gribbins, who attended the IronDirect media event in July at the Customer Experience Center in Asheville, NC. “…Frank and friends at IronDirect are promising an up to 50 percent cheaper investment from buyers on certain machine categories,” Gribbins wrote. “Wow. What if you could cut costs by 50 percent across your entire fleet? Would you suddenly be company MVP? IronDirect is thinking you might.” The magazine has an audited circulation of 35,132 and its website attracts 15,574 unique viewers each month.
Government Product News, part of American City & County magazine, published a feature on IronDirect on November 2. “‘We have worked very hard to develop an innovative approach to buying construction equipment that removes the unnecessary costs and inefficiencies associated with the traditional business model,’” the article read. “‘The result is a smarter, better way to purchase, finance, manage and resell equipment that can ultimately save you up to 50 percent over the entire lifecycle of ownership.’” American City & County has an audited circulation of 67,538.
A story on IronDirect’s new sales partners and dealer recruitment programs was among the inaugural articles on a new website, Big Iron Dealer, published by Equipment World magazine. “IronDirect has unveiled a series of new initiatives in the past month designed to get dealers and sales representatives interested in both servicing and selling its offering of Chinese-made equipment, in addition to lines from Italian and American manufacturers,” wrote editor Marcia Gruver Doyle.
